About Da Lat City
The city of Dalat is the main centre of the Southern Highlands region. The climate here is cool with an average annual temperature of 18oC.

In the past it was renowned as a cool, green city with a park-like environment. This is changing fast, as the economy booms and life speeds up, but Dalat is still definitely worth a visit and it"s a good base for trips into the surrounding highlands, which remain tranquil.

How to get here:
Air - Lien Khuong Airport is 30km south of Dalat. There are daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and two flights a week to Danang.
Train - Daily express buses from Hochiminh city to Dalat take about 4 hours.

XUAN HUONG LAKE: Xuan Huong is the area"s most beautiful lake, and is located in the centre of Dalat city. It is, in the shape of a crescent moon.

It is a poetic site, attracting visitors in search of relaxation and young lovers. The surface of the lake is as smooth as glass with the reflection of the surrounding pine trees. The road around the lake is also encompassed by pine trees.

VALLEY OF LOVE: About 5 km from Dalat"s centre to the North, the Valley of Love is ringed by hilly slopes covered with pines. Under King Bao Dai the valley was called Hoa Binh (Peace).

In 1972 Da Thien lake was created in the valley. As a result of this enhancement, the valley has become even more poetic and seductive and has attracted countless visitors and, of course, lovers.

PALACES: Dalat has three magnificent, large palaces which are always referred to as Palace 1, Palace 2 and Palace 3. The architectural designs for the palaces were completed by the French. They are accessible by long flights of brick steps and gently sloping roads. The path is completely covered with a broad canopy of pine trees.

Palace 1 and Palace 2 were owned by French high-ranking officials during the colonization of more than 40 years ago. Palace 2 is a dignified building of modern design, built in 1933.

CAM LY WATERFALL: The noise produced by the running water of the Cam Ly waterfall can be heard even before arriving at the site of the falls. The city"s lake is supplied with water from a small stream that runs north of the lake. On the other side, there is another small stream that brings water from the lake to the western part of the city.

This stream runs beneath a bridge near a bus station where there is a small dam. Both the streams to and from the lake are named Cam Ly. Two kilometres from the lake, the water runs through a rough bed of large boulders called Cam Ly waterfall.

PONGUAR WATERFALL: This waterfall is the most magnificent and powerful waterfall in the vicinity of Dalat.

Located more than 50km away, in the mountains, Ponguar Waterfall is 40m high. The water falls into a big lake producing a great noise, whose echo can be heard far way.

PRENN FALLS: The Prenn Waterfall is located at the foot of the 10km - long Prenn mountain pass, on the route from Dalat to Ho Chi Minh city. The famous waterfalls are located approximately 100m from the road.

Approaching the falls there is a subtle change in temperature caused by mist of the water falling. At the foot of the falls is a small valley of flowers and pine trees. The 10m cascading water falls down over the small bridge built across a little lake.

The Long distance bus station is at the end of NguyenThi Minh Khai st., Dalat city. Express buses leave for Ho Chi Minh city, Nha Trang, Phan Rang, Hue, Quang Ngai, Buon Ma Thuot, Danang and Quy Nhon.
